TISS 2018 Interviews.

The PIT for Disaster Management started 15 minutes after the PIT for Media and Cultural Studies. The test was of 50 marks with one caselet (25 marks) followed by three questions of which any two was to be answered and another question required us to comment on the ongoing Refugee crisis and its impact on the European countries. I did just okay in both the question. The interview panel was held in another block. The panel consisted of 3 people. Two males (M1 and M2) and one female (F). M1 - So tell us what have you studied in you course B.A. in Mass Communications? *Explained each subject in each semester* M1 - Do you feel that the mass media tool are used to influence public opinion ? *Explained PR process, BJP IT Cell example) W- Why do you want to pursue Disaster Management? I reported at the Mumbai campus well before time. Moved around in the campus for a few minutes and then headed to the room number mentioned in my application abstract (admit card). Pre-Interview test was a written one that was of 50 marks, comprising of two questions (45 minutes). Each question to be answered had four alternatives to choose from. One question required us to comment critically on a current issue and the other required us to write a story. I chose to comment critically on -  #MeToo campaign being utilized to falsely target a few male celebrities. Wrote 2-3 pages. Next, to write a story 4 sentences were given. We had to choose any one sentence of the 4 and use it as the first sentence and complete the story. I chose the sentence, "Are you from Africa?" the passenger asked Angela. Wrote a 3 page story.
